This is one of the finest Inspector Gadget Fan-Art pictures I`ve ever seen on The Internet.Brain on top of a speeding car using a Rocket-Launcher,Penny driving and Gadget on the hood of the Gadget-Mobile firing a Gatling Gun.The three of them working together instead of Penny and Brain being the ones saving the day and thwarting M.A.D. while the bumbling Gadget gets by on sheer luck,thinks he`s the one who saved the day and gets all the credit and takes all the credit.I never thought I would use a picture of Inspector Gadget in my house,but I think I might just print off a color copy of this and have it up on the side of my fridge.''It`s such a Bad-Ass picture and here on deviantart.com,I`m seeing Gadget portrayed in a way that I`ve never seen before.As a capable,competent Man-Of-Action.Go-Go-Gadget Gatling Gun''isn`t something I ever thought I`d hear associated with Inspector Gadget,most of the weapons that were a part of The Inspector`s repertoire of Gadgets and Weapons weren`t meant to be lethal,I don`t think think(though I should add that so-called non-lethal devices and weapons can still be lethal).A Dog(with what appears to be opposable thumbs) using a RPG on the roof of a car,a pre-teen driving(speeding,apparently)and Gadget on the hood of said speeding car in a position that would be next to impossible for any real human being in a real-world scenario to be in and not expect to get thrown from the car and killed or terribly injured(but he is a Cyborg,after all).It`s just such an over- the -top,wonderfully absurd and excitingly,energetic kinetic image,that I can`t help but like it!I never wanted to see Inspector Gadget turn into Batman or The Punisher or Robocop or Rambo or The Terminator or Cable from Marvel Comics or Deathlok or Cyborg from DC Comics or John McClane from Die Hard and the comedy should always be a part of any Gadget story,but I always wanted to see Gadget be more competent,capable and intelligent and more of a skilled fighter.Both his niece,Penny,and the dog,Brain,are more competent and capable than him and they`re basically smarter than he is. I never really questioned it as a kid,because most kids don`t question stuff like that.But as an adult who is now old enough to have kids the age that I was when I was watching Gadget,my thinking is more along the lines of,''Wait,if Gadget is such an incompetent,wimpy,clueless idiot,how has he managed to keep from getting seriously injured and stay alive-especially in his line of work,for so long?''

And yeah,I know he had incredible luck and Penny and Brain constantly covering his ass and doing all of the real work but even for a Science Fiction,Fantasy Cartoon Series,it`s hard to convince people,who aren`t children, that evetually someone that incompetent wouldn`t get themselves killed or others or themselves and others killed-especially if it`s someone who is a Police Officer,Fire Fighter or in The Military.Seeing all of these images of Gadget as a more competent,Man-Of-Action, actually in charge and as a bad-ass,makes me think that maybe a Rebooted Animated Series of Gadget more like this,would be one possible way to do Gadget in the future(if something like that were to ever happen).It shouldn`t be too dark or too violent and I don`t think it would have to be the equivalent of what Frank Miller did for Batman with the landmark Graphic Novel,''The Dark Knight Returns.'' But it`s definitely time someone gave Gadget more ''Go-Go-Gadget Balls'',if you will and made him more of a guy who actually knows what he is doing and who kicks ass and who has Penny and Brain as his actual sidekicks. Yeah,in the original Cartoon Series,they were the sidekicks(even though,the pompous and unaware Gadget didn`t know it),but they were the ones doing all the work and making Gadget-who clearly had no idea what he was doing,look good.There could still be inherent humor in some of the scenarios Gadget finds himself in,but the way Gadget always gets turned into an bumbling idiot for comedic effect in most mediums, is something that I hope will change in the future.Awesome picture and it`s cloeser to how I always wanted to see Inspector Gaget be.
